At the Center for Student Success, we help you seamlessly transition into your first year. Whether you need guidance academically or personally, we are here to help first-year students get started on their journey. Our first-year advisors will point students in the right direction. For returning students, we can help with academic registrations and administrative and financial questions.

Our Services

Advising and First-Year Student Support

We want to help you find your path, explore new things, and challenge yourself. We can help you strategies to reduce stress and anxiety, determine what clubs to join, manage personal problems, health and wellness, and with general questions. Try us first! If we don't have the answer, we'll look for it with you.

Student Accounts and Registration

We share information and advice on student-related administrative processes, including registration, payment, billing, enrollment verification, access to academic records and transcripts, and general financial aid information. We help connect students with our CSS Specialist to find the solutions they need to succeed.

Orientation & First-Year Experience

At UHart, we want you to feel connected and part of the family from day one. That's why we have developed a unique first-year experience to introduce you to campus. From the moment you arrive on-campus to the moment you begin classes, the CSS is there to guide you.

Tutoring

Do you need help with a subject?—Stop by the Center for Student Success for help!

Tutoring for a specific course/subject:

Receive free, one-on-one tutoring in a course/subject you are looking to get some help with. In most cases, tutoring will be offered by an upper-class student, who has received an A in the class.

Reading, writing, and studying:

We also offers free individualized assistance to anyone in the University community who wants to develop efficient strategies for reading, writing, and studying. Professional and peer consultants help with writing issues such as generating ideas for papers, writing research papers, and organizing and editing drafts. They also teach flexible and effective strategies for managing time, taking notes, reading, and preparing for exams.
